Channel Ready (mspchannelready.com) is an assessment service used by companies to measure how ready their sales staff are to sell to managed service providers. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It is written in plain language on purpose.
What we collect
- From the company using the service: company name, and the name, work email and job title of each manager and each person asked to take an assessment. The company provides this; we do not collect it from anyone else.
- From people taking an assessment: the answers they give, including role-play transcripts; a self-reported sales background and years of channel experience; timestamps for when the link was opened, started and submitted; and interaction data from the assessment page while it is open, such as timing between actions, whether the page is in the foreground, and whether text was typed or pasted. We do not capture the screen, record the camera, log keystrokes, or see anything outside the assessment page.
- Spoken answers: on a role-play phone call a person can choose to speak instead of type. The browser's own speech recognition turns the voice into text (in some browsers, such as Chrome, that is done by the browser maker's speech service). We receive only the resulting text, marked as spoken. No audio is recorded or sent to us.
- Practice sessions: role-plays a person runs for practice between assessments, with the feedback they got. Managers see how often someone practiced, not what they said.
- Call transcripts a company adds: a manager can paste a transcript of a real sales call (from a call recorder or their own notes) to have it scored. The company is responsible for having the right to share it; we use it only to score it for that company.
- From a company's CRM, if they connect it: closed deals by the rep's email (date and amount) to record outcomes. Nothing else is read.
- Candidates: a company can use the assessment to screen people applying for a sales role. The same data is collected, it is shown only to that company's hiring managers and recruiters, it is kept out of team results and benchmarks, and a candidate who is not hired is deleted after the company's retention period (180 days unless the company sets otherwise). Nobody is rejected automatically: a person decides.
- From MSP partners asked for feedback on a rep: three ratings and an optional comment. No name, email or network address is stored with them, and they are shown only as an average once at least three partners have answered.
- From people requesting access on the website: the name, email, company and note they enter in the form.
- Technical: a session cookie for signed-in managers and admins, a hashed form of the network address and browser type during an assessment attempt, and ordinary server logs. We do not run advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To score assessments and show results and training recommendations to the managers at the company that assigned them. Written answers and role-plays may be scored with the help of an AI model; a manager can override any score.
- To check that an attempt was the person's own work. The interaction data is summarized into an integrity read shown to the company's managers as a signal to discuss with the person, not as a finding on its own.
- To send the emails the service depends on: assessment links, reminders, sign-in links and manager invitations.
- To respond to access requests.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use assessment answers to train anything. Results for one company are never shown to another company.
Certification badges. A person who reaches the top readiness tier can be issued a Channel Ready Certified badge. The badge page is public at its own unguessable link and shows only the person's name, the company, the date issued and when it expires, never a score. The person decides whether to share it, and the company or the person can ask for it to be withdrawn.
Who can see assessment results
The managers the company has named for its account, and Channel Ready staff for support and administration. The person who took the assessment does not see their score through the service; whether and how results are shared with them is the company's decision.
Retention and deletion
We keep data for as long as the company's account is active. A company can ask us to delete its account, which removes its managers' access, its roster, and every assessment result. An individual can ask us to delete their own record by emailing alec@mspchannelready.com; we will confirm with the company that assigned the assessment and then remove it.
Where it lives
Data is stored with hosting and database providers in the United States. Email is sent through a third-party email delivery provider. These providers process data on our behalf and under their own security commitments.
